Hi, On behalf of the Media Working Group, I would like to request a Privacy Review for the Media Capabilities specification: https://w3c.github.io/media-capabilities/ This specification contains an API that allows websites to probe how a given media playback configuration will perform on the device. It is mostly exposing hardware capabilities that can already be guessed or discovered by the websites. While it makes it easier to gather that information, the results will be vastly similar for all devices of the same type which we believe significantly reduces the fingerprinting entropy. You can read more about this in the security/privacy section of the specification and the questionnaire: https://w3c.github.io/media-capabilities/#security-privacy-considerations https://github.com/w3c/media-capabilities/blob/master/security-privacy-questionnaire.md Please raise any issues in the Media Capabilities GitHub repository: https://github.com/w3c/media-capabilities/issues Thanks, -- Mounir
