FYI, French internet provider Free has updated its software [1] on its box, giving the possibility for users to block ads. It currently creates a big debate in French geek communities, because the provider has activated the Ads blocking feature by default (it can be deactivated). The discussion [2] is going on, expect a lot of Reality Distortion in the future.
