in the work of the customer profile exchange (cpex), it was our
intention, using a dtd precursor of what became the p3p data
collection policy schema, to make possible the continued association
of originating data collection policy statements to subsequent actors.

i don't recall anyone from barnes and noble participating in the cpex
work, so if their evaluation of the problem is that persistent
association is "completely unrealistic", it may simply be due to a
lack of awareness of prior art.
