Dear All, #2 in https://www.w3.org/community/ppl/wiki/CustomerRequirements Is there any discussion about this feature in archives? For me this request is rather surprising. AFAIK indenting at the beginning of the page/column is allowed according to common typographic rules. To see it in the output I'd personally take it as a bug. But it is true when indenting is enabled, there are some rules when the first paragraph should not be indented: - after headings - after page-wide tables - after floating images - [lists?] I like ConTeXt way, where these rules are not defined on the specific 'block', but on the previous one using a special 'attribute' indentnext="yes/no": http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Indentation It would be nice to have something like this also in XSL-FO. In XSLT transformation it is much easier to set a single attribute value (indentnext=no) to all those headings, wide tables etc. instead of testing what the previous node is and according to this information to switch the indentation for the given block on/off. But this is most likely unrelated to the original topic... :-) Regards, Jan
