Hello. Sorry to bump this issue. I have an Android tablet from Samsung with a pen digitizer that reports distance, so it's not just Apple. I think high-end desktop Wacom digitizers report it too, but on windows they only do so over wintab32 (wacom's proprietary tablet API), not over WM_POINTER (the standard one, which doesn't have a report field for distance).
