Dear all, the minutes from today's short meeting are available at https://www.w3.org/2024/03/13-pointerevents-minutes.html and copied below: PEWG 13 March 2024 Agenda: https://www.w3.org/events/meetings/6246bc85-4dae-43a8-a50c-9bc5a0829585/20240313T110000/ IRC log: https://www.w3.org/2024/03/13-pointerevents-irc Attendees Present flackr, mustaq, Patrick_H_Lauke Regrets smaug Chair: Patrick H. Lauke Scribe: Patrick H. Lauke, Patrick_H_Lauke * Multi-pen support and persistent pointerId #353 * improve drop down menu handling #499 * Meta-issue: update WPT to cover Pointer Events Level 3 #445 * TPAC 2024 # Multi-pen support and persistent pointerId #353 w3c/pointerevents#353 Discussion happened on PR w3c/pointerevents#495 w3c/pointerevents#495 Patrick: my general feel is the team is amenable to making sure their additions aren't looking weirdly grafted onto the PE spec Rob: my impression as well. seems there's no objections, a few outstanding comments. will do another pass. we'll keep this PR open until we push v3 out ACTION: Rob to review latest state of PR #495 # improve drop down menu handling #499 w3c/pointerevents#499 Patrick: the commenter wants something like the old Touch Events "magic" done in Safari/iOS where clicks are ignored/swallowed if a tap produced a change in the page Patrick: I suggested this is magic heuristic browser behaviour that has no space in PE [group agrees] ACTION: Patrick to add comment to that effect and close issue # Meta-issue: update WPT to cover Pointer Events Level 3 #445 w3c/pointerevents#445 Patrick: anything to discuss? any help needed on anything? PAtrick: there was a comment referencing WPT w3c/pointerevents#500 Patrick: seemed to touch on something we discussed previously. suggested to file that part in WPT repo [group agrees] # TPAC 2024 Patrick: any of you going? September / Anaheim Patrick: don't think we'll have much to discuss at that point. If we do find ourselves at TPAC, we'll have an informal chat. ACTION: Patrick to fill our TPAC questionnaire to say we don't plan a session Patrick: I will also mention that i FINALLY pulled my finger out and got the ball rolling regarding wide review (though I had to query with Philippe about the very first step). But this is now in motion at last. Patrick: Thank you all, catch you again in two weeks' time -- Patrick H.
