https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=20111 Bug ID: 20111 Summary: Define compatibility mapping for touch events Classification: Unclassified Product: PointerEventsWG Version: unspecified Hardware: PC OS: Windows NT Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: Pointer Events specification Assignee: jrossi@microsoft.com Reporter: jrossi@microsoft.com QA Contact: dave.null@w3.org CC: public-pointer-events@w3.org Opening on behalf of Rick Byers. [1] Pointer Events spec defines a mapping with legacy mouse events for content that is not aware of pointer events. In a similar scenario, there is content that uses touch events [2] and is not aware of pointer events. For UAs that wish to implement compatibility touch events for such content and for authors that wish to understand the relationship between pointer events and touch events, a mapping should be defined between pointer and touch event dispatch. Discussed possibility of defining this as a WG Note, potentially published instead by the Web Events Working Group.
