I have an action item to seek use cases from the BigDataEurope project that I have kept open for a while while I asked that group about the topic on multiple occasions. Last week that project, along with many others, was in Eindhoven for a data conference and in a side event organised by the project I again asked for use cases. The answers were: - licensing is really, really important; - machine readable licences are really, really important; - this is necessary to work at scale; And then the useful bit of information: - what we need is for machines to understand the different licences in common use. In other words, the BDE project adds weight to the existing use case of 'Atomic Understanding of Common Licenses.' [1] I have updated that use cases on the wiki and included a file I didn't have when I first wrote it which is the mapping done by the EDP. I have put a local copy of that file on the wiki and linked to the original source. I am aware that this means editing the GitHub doc which I'm happy to do myself if the editors so choose - but you might want to amend the wording in the process. Let me know if you want me to do more.
