Re taking "Asset" of identifiers: I don't have a fundamental objection to that - but a concern: at IPTC we have regular discussions about the fact that many users of (IPTC) standards only look into formal validation documents (XML Schemas, JSON Schemas ...) and even expecting that they will read the attached documentation is reaching too far in many cases.
