Ivan, Daihei Shiohama here. I attended the meeting as well (though my name is not included in the attendants). Also, under the "ISO and Liaising with ISO/IEC JTC1/SC34," I stated the following: "The reason we must take into account the situation regarding EU accessibility is that the EAA has already been enacted as a binding regulation, and its accessibility requirements affect not only Europe but the global publishing industry as a whole. Similarly, in the United States, the ADA is in effect, and Japan and other countries each have their own local accessibility laws. Since the international eBook ecosystem is interconnected, we cannot disregard the specific circumstances of each region. In my view, it is both natural and necessary to give due consideration to the established EU context, as it cannot be ignored, " for the record.
