Nick Brown, VP Product, will share insights from VitalSource's experience building *Bookshelf CoachMe*, an award-winning AI-powered feature that has been shown to triple student engagement with their textbooks and improve learning outcomes. Nick will outline the learning science foundations that guide their AI development, their approach to balancing publisher rights and concerns with innovation, and lessons learned from years of research and implementation. Nick will also discuss their AI principles framework, which ensures their technology remains ethical, transparent, and centered on improving educational outcomes rather than simply deploying AI for its own sake. The session will conclude with open Q&A regarding the future landscape of AI in educational content and reading systems.
