RE: [Slightly off topic] F2F plans?

I had booked in Maxy before reading Ivan’s email, because some of advisory board colleagues suggested it to me (We will be there up to April 11 due to several W3C meetings).

Their experience at Maxy was fine. Rooms are little smaller than what is expected from an European hotel. The breakfast is ok.

With regards

Avneesh

I am looking at hotel stays for the F2F, leaning toward Moxy since it is close. I will also be around for the weekend after the event (I fly out on the 7th from Nice). Two questions:

1. How is the Moxy? Has anyone stayed here or nearby who may have preferences?

I stayed there once and I did not like it. The rooms are uncomfortable (but very modern design:-), there is no decent restaurant, just a (not very good) bar. Its only advantage is to be very close to INRIA (just on the other side of the road).

I have made a reservation in the Novotel. It is a solid restaurant, about 10-15 minutes walk from INRIA.

2. Is anyone else going to be around for the weekend? I am looking for things to do on my extra days. Is this a good hub to explore from or will I regret not moving to another location?

I stay for the weekend (and the AC meeting). I agree with Hadrien: staying in Nice for the weekend is probably way better, getting to Nice (and back) from Sophia Antipolis is a bit of a drag.

Sorry for posting to the public list, I don't seem to have access to the private one - or maybe we don't have a private list?

member-pm-wg@w3.org <mailto:member-pm-wg@w3.org> is a member confidential list to which you should have access…
