Dear Members of the Publishing Maintenance Working Group, I'm relaying the following announcement that was sent to W3C Advisory Committee Representative earlier today, to notify the group of the new charter approval and call for participation. With kind regards, Xueyuan Jia, Marketing & Communications -------- Forwarded Message -------- Subject: Call for Participation: Publishing Maintenance Working Group Charter approved; Join the Publishing Maintenance WG Date: Tue, 11 Feb 2025 18:00:55 +0800 From: xueyuan <xueyuan@w3.org> To: w3c-ac-members@w3.org Dear Advisory Committee Representative, [This announcement will be forwarded to W3C group chairs] W3C is pleased to announce the recharter of the Publishing Maintenance Working Group. https://www.w3.org/2025/02/pmwg-charter.html The group is chartered through February 5, 2027. The mission of the Publishing Maintenance Working Group is to maintain the Recommendations developed by the Audiobooks and the EPUB Working Groups, and work on new features and ideas to incrementally improve these Recommendations, provide stable satellite specifications in the form of Working Group Notes, or provide the base for building the next major revisions of the publishing specifications. Please use the following form to have your organization join or re-join the group. The form will also instruct you how to nominate participants: https://www.w3.org/groups/wg/pm/join/ Please consider diversity when proposing people to participate in W3C groups. Representation from a wider group of people, especially people from under-represented groups, is vital for creating web standards that meet the needs of the wider web community. If your organization is currently in the group, please note that you will need to have it re-join the group as the new charter adds a new deliverable with licensing obligations under the W3C Patent Policy. This Call for Participation triggers the start of the 45 days grace period. See: https://www.w3.org/2020/09/15-pp-faq.html#recharter The group chairs are Wendy Reid, Rakuten Kobo, and Shinya Takami (高見真也), Kadokawa. The Team Contact is Ivan Herman, <ivan@w3.org>, for a total of 0.2 FTE. More information about the group can be found on the group home page: https://www.w3.org/groups/wg/pm/ [...] To see all changes relative to the proposed charter that was under AC review, follow this link: https://services.w3.org/htmldiff?doc1=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2024%2F12%2FProposed-PM-charter.html&doc2=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2025%2F02%2Fpmwg-charter.html To see all changes relative to the previous charter, follow this link: https://services.w3.org/htmldiff?doc1=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2023%2F06%2Fpmwg-charter.html&doc2=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2025%2F02%2Fpmwg-charter.html This announcement follows section 5.7.2 of the W3C Process Document: https://www.w3.org/policies/process/20231103/#ACReviewAfter and the Call for Participation follows section 4.4 of the W3C Process Document: https://www.w3.org/policies/process/20231103/#cfp Thank you, For Philippe le Hégaret, W3C Strategy and Project Lead, Ivan Herman, Publishing Maintenance Working Group Team Contact; Xueyuan Jia, W3C Marketing & Communications
