I could not help myself. I have the viewer running with some sample data.
Questions:
1. What is the K3D Tablet in the visual?
2. Are there datasets with coherent visuals I can try?
3. How does chat work? Does it work? Did not respond to me.
4. What is your practical plan to evolve the viewer?
5. What is the practical plan to evolve the visuals?
6. Having prepared datasets for different domains/experiments that slowly build in complexity would help a lot. Being able to see the data in plain text is critical during dev of the visual canvases.
I feel a 2D focus for me would be more practical initially as it is much closer to existing web user experience and I do not need to think about 3D "world" development just yet. I presume I can project K3D graphs into a 2D space. This could make sense if I can represents animated detail efficiently. Much better than a HTML + SVG as nodes and complexity increases. I had plans to go to ThreeJS but that is a huge shift. So how do I "build" a 2D "live chart" with elements flowing between entities in the chart in the K3D space? How do I build the visual layout model, how do I hydrate it with data? How do I animate a layer on top of that? This is likely the path I am inclined to go down to explore if that even makes sense.
Any and all material to steer my thinking is welcome.
Is this mailing list the place to discuss these things or should that be done on the github repo? I am thinking these conversations are useful as introductions for others as well.
