Open Position: DRM schemes to the protection of sensitive mobile data

Research Assistant (1 year) at FUNDP – The University of Namur, Belgium
Position: Application of Digital Rights Management schemes to the protection of sensitive mobile data

Position Description
The goal of the project is to define a model for the management of digital rights applied to travelling sensitive data, taking stock of approaches already proposed in the field of commercial distribution of digital content, for instance multimedia content. The focus on mobile data is motivated by the always greater ubiquitous character of users and data.

The elaboration of the model is a short term objective, whereas the design, implementation and validation of a prototype against results from the open literature is a longer term goal, more suited for a PhD thesis.

The successful candidate will hold a M.Sc. in computer science, and have interest in rights management and access control, modelling techniques and high-level communication protocols. S/he must have good knowledge of Java and XML technologies.
The selected applicant will be invited to apply for a FRIA (Fonds pour la formation à la Recherche dans l’Industrie et dans l’Agriculture) grant in order to fund a follow-up PhD on the same topic. Conditions for applying to such a grant are detailed on the FNRS (Fonds National pour la Recherche Scientifique) web site.

The selected applicant will receive a net salary of approx. 1,460.00 euros/month.
