The cut/paste metaphor can work for it. I’ve never seen a comprehensive bullet point list of issues prohibiting this approach. Cut/paste is a great alternative to drag/drop, but the interaction of cut/paste is entirely unrelated to drag & drop. IMO, conflating these two concepts is the reason ARIA drag/drop failed, and why it needs to be deprecated. James
