48-Hour Call for Consensus (CfC); Publish "Techniques for providing useful text alternatives"

Colleagues:

This is a Call for Consensus (CfC) to Protocols and Formats Working
Group (PF_WG) to publish the revised HTML-A11Y Task Force document,
"Techniques for providing useful text alternatives" as a W3C note.

The candidate document is available at:

http://www.w3.org/2015/03/alt-draft.html

Please note this CfC would effectively publish only a stub document
inasmuch as the content formerly provided by this document has been
subsumed by the HTML 5.0 specification itself.

The HTML-A11Y Task Force dicision to request publication of this
document as a note is recorded at:

http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-html-a11y/2015Apr/0062.html

ACTION TO TAKE

According to agreed Procedures, this CfC is now open for objection,
comment, as well as statements of support via email. Silence will be
interpreted as support, though messages of support are certainly
welcome.

If you object to this proposed action, or have comments concerning this
proposal, please respond by replying on list to this message no later
than 23:59 (Midnight) Boston Time on Thursday 23 April..
