Dear editors, Both in the W3C Working Draft <http://www.w3.org/TR/wai-aria-primer> and in the W3C Editor's Draft <http://www.w3.org/WAI/PF/aria-primer/>, the following sentence appears: "Until now, the W3C WAI has discouraged the use of JavaScript per Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 1.0<http://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG10/wai-pageauth.html#tech-scripts> ([WCAG1 <http://www.w3.org/TR/wai-aria-primer/#ref_WCAG1>], Checkpoint 6.1)." However, WCAG 1.0 Checkpoint 6.1 does not refer to JavaScript at all, let alone discourage its use. It would make more sense for the sentence above to be replaced with the following: "Previously, the W3C WAI encouraged the use of graceful degradation per Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 1.0<http://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG10/wai-pageauth.html#gl-new-technologies> ([WCAG1 <http://www.w3.org/TR/wai-aria-primer/#ref_WCAG1>], Guideline 6)." Yours, Sam Kuper
