It would help if after the sentence "If the range is a set of qualitative string values, such as "small", "medium", and "large", then aria-valuenow is an index that chooses one of the set." it were pointed out that the base of the index (Pascalesque 1, not conventional 0) is given in the definition of aria-valuetext.
