Hi all, This morning I gave a talk about Personalization at CSUN - this was essentially our TPAC talk, with us all being credited as contributors at the start. I think it went down well. I think we had a good number of attendees, though I am not sure how many. Perhaps Lionel could give a guesstimate. Lionel was able to attend, and contributed to some answers in the Q&A. We have both, Lionel in particular, been bigging up the spec at the conference. I have made some notes on the feedback we got, and will elaborate when I'm back. We did get several questions, generally a lot of enthusiasm, but definitely considered concern over the burden on developers, and the nature of the mechanism for delivering the semantics. These are similar to feedback we've had before, and I will be doing some research in our wiki to help remind me of the context behind some of these issues. It is vital to get constructive critical feedback and I look forward to discussing it with you (and with the people who raised it more, I hope). In a rather serendipitous turn of events, two long-time academic friends of mine are here. It was a lovely surprise to see them, and one (Klaus Miesenberger) is doing research of a very Personalization-complementary nature (the Easy Reading EU project [1], with which I think Lisa may've had some involvement). Klaus' team is looking at the balance of responsibilities between standards/guidelines, AT and authors, and it's a conversation I hope the industry continues to have. We met together with some AGWG members who are here (it was wonderful to meet them too), and I think there is very good potential for comparing notes, at least. I will file more concrete and discrete feedback on my return,. Just wanted to let you know how it's going.
