Dear all, With purl.org still inaccessible for login after nine months, I hear alot from other organizations and projects that use PURLs, some with vocabulary projects in active development who cannot publish or test their work. The situation raises questions about evolving best practice for persistent identifiers generally. Given sufficient interest, it would not be too late to organize a half- (or possibly full-)day session on persistent identifiers for Sunday, October 16 -- the post-conference day at the DC-2016 conference in Copenhagen [1]. Such a session could bring together advocates and users of PURLs, URNs, ARKs, w3id.org, and other approaches. This session would need presentations, and of course organizers! It is quite late in the season to propose such an event, but alot of people urgently seek a venue to discuss this topic. If you would like to help plan such an event, or make a presentation, please drop me a line or post a note to the DC-ARCHITECTURE mailing list [2].
