Dear Web Payments Working Group, After a bit of a delay, I'm finally following up on my action item from the June 19th WPWG to put together an explanation of what platform authenticators that Chrome's SPC implementation uses across the various platforms. [July 2025] Overview of platform authenticators for SPC in Chrome <https://docs.google.com/document/d/1fnZiiaBfs0RvZnFPwv8ynl04Bv30LUO_LMrVavwLsRw/edit?usp=sharing> This document covers: 1. A list of known platform authenticators by platform 2. Platform authenticator capabilities that are relevant to SPC 3. An explanation of which platform authenticators Chrome uses for SPC on which platforms 4. A discussion of possible future changes with regards to Chrome's SPC implementation and platform authenticators. I look forward to hearing folks input/questions, either via this email thread, in the WPWG, or separately! @Ian Jacobs <ij@w3.org> - I'm happy to convert this (or let someone else convert it) into e.g. a wiki entry or GitHub pull request, if that would be easier for review. Let me know. Thanks, Stephen -- smcgruer • he / him
