Dear Members of the Web Payments Working Group, I'm relaying the following announcement that was sent to W3C Advisory Committee Representative earlier today, to notify the group of the new charter approval and call for participation. With kind regards, Xueyuan Jia, Marketing & Communications -------- Forwarded Message -------- Subject: Call for Participation: Web Payments Working Group Charter Approved; Join the Web Payments WG Date: Thu, 3 Aug 2023 10:11:39 +0800 From: xueyuan <xueyuan@w3.org> To: w3c-ac-members@w3.org Dear Advisory Committee Representative, [This announcement will be forwarded to W3C group chairs] W3C is pleased to announce the re-charter of the Web Payments Working Group. https://www.w3.org/Payments/WG/charter-2023.html The group is chartered through 31 July 2025. The mission of the Web Payments Working Group is to make consumer retail payments easier and more secure on the Web. Please use the following form to have your organization join the group. The form will also instruct you how to nominate participants: https://www.w3.org/groups/wg/payments/join Current participants do not need to rejoin the group because there are no new deliverables and the group's scope is effectively reduced as a result of the change to the charter. Please consider diversity when proposing people to participate in W3C groups. Representation from a wider group of people, especially people from under-represented groups, is vital for creating web standards that meet the needs of the wider web community. The Working Group chairs are Gerhard Oosthuizen (Entersekt), Praveena Subrahmanyam (Airbnb), and Nick Telford-Reed (Invited Expert). The Team Contact is Ian Jacobs for a total of 0.4 FTE. More information about the group can be found on the group home page: https://www.w3.org/groups/wg/payments/ The rechartering announcement follows section 5.7.2 of the W3C Process Document: https://www.w3.org/2023/Process-20230612/#ACReviewAfter The Call for Participation follows section 4.4 of the W3C Process Document: https://www.w3.org/2023/Process-20230612/#cfp Thank you, For Philippe le Hégaret, W3C Strategy and Project Lead, Ian Jacobs, Web Payments Working Group Team Contact; Xueyuan Jia, W3C Marketing & Communications [...] For all changes relative to the previous charter, see: https://services.w3.org/htmldiff?doc1=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2FPayments%2FWG%2Fcharter-2022.html&doc2=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2FPayments%2FWG%2Fcharter-2023.html
