If WebAuthn to Pay becomes a reality it probably signals the beginning of the end of the PaymentHandler saga. The inability of sharing Code, Data and Keys (="wallet") by multiple issuers is a showstopper which the new effort doesn't seem to suffer from. That is, there will likely be two payment solutions left when the dust finally has settled: 1. Browser-based (built-in) 2. Mobile App-based Personally I believe banks will go for #2 (most of them have already done this choice), because fixed UIs and security protocols are inflexible and stifles innovation. Option #2 also extends to other scenarios like PoS terminals. Using QR the very same mobile app can also be used for desktop Web payments. Anders
