Welcome to 2019. I hope that many of you had a good break over the end of the year and that you are refreshed and invigorated for the year ahead. We made good progress over 2018, and Ian wrote a great summary in his blog ( https://www.w3.org/blog/wpwg/2018/12/20/2018-in-web-payments/). It's always instructive to look back over everything that we have done - I think a particular highlight for me has been the growing momentum around payment handlers, and of course our face to face meetings in Singapore and Lyon. As we look ahead to the year to come, I expect our focus to remain on getting Payment Request API to recommendation, and to continue to work on alignment between our work, and the Secure Remote Commerce activity at EMVCO. With this in mind, it is proposed that a new Secure Web Payments Interest Group be formed specifically to allow liaison between W3C, EMVCO and the FIDO alliance. The charter review is currently underway, and I would encourage everyone to ask their Advisory Council (AC) representatives to provide feedback and support (https://www.w3.org/securepay/charter.html). We also have our next face to face meeting to prepare for. In case you missed Ian's mail, the arrangements are: 2-3 April 2019 in Foster City, California, USA hosted by Visa Many thanks to our Visa colleagues for hosting the meeting; we will make details available in early 2019. As the meeting planning evolves, the agenda will be at: https://github.com/w3c/webpayments/wiki/FTF-Agenda-201904 Toward the end of the 2018, we also had a good teleconference on Credit Transfer (https://www.w3.org/2018/11/29-wpwg-minutes) to which I would draw your attention. I hope we will see continued progress in this space. There is no meeting this week. Adrian and I anticipate that our first working group call will be on 24th January at the usual time (15:00 UTC). Thank you for all your support over the coming year - as ever, Adrian, Ian and I welcome your feedback and input. Please let us know your thoughts. Lastly (as a matter of housekeeping), you might note that my email has changed as I adventure out into the world of independent consultancy. Thanks Nick (On behalf of the chairs)
