Thanks for write up. This is quite helpful in framing the discussion.

I'm still left wondering if we shouldn't be leasing with ISO? In
Wikipedia [1], it says:

"SIX Interbank Clearing (a Maintenance Agency of ISO) is currently
studying the impact and role of cryptocurrencies and other independent
currencies on ISO 4217."

I'd like us to fully exhaust the ISO route first. Otherwise, this is
going to be really messy - specially if ISO ends up adding the
currency codes.

D'oh! that's the wrong bug :( I'll update the spec, and ask for republish.

Let's take up discussion there. I'm happy to help. Testing should be
really easy, as there is only one algorithmic requirement in the spec
(so take just a few mins to copy/paste an existing test and make some
minor modifications to the code to do the currencyCode check).
