## Agenda+: Keeping good ads off of bad sites

As a web user, I want to receive more and better ad-supported content. And advertisers choose to use industry-wide validation standards to ensure that they are sponsoring the web content that they intend to. ("Brand Safety")

Validation capabilities have been improving over time. In the two years since W3C's Improving Web Advertising Business Group began, functionality and adoption of those industry standards have both made progress. In-browser ad placement technologies that have achieved parity with 2019 RTB ads are no longer competitive with the best of what advertisers can do in 2022 RTB ads.

In order to keep in-browser ads from turning into a step backward on brand safety, browsers are likely to need to implement some version of the existing checks, intended to prevent good ads from ending up on bad sites, that are now possible in conventional web RTB.

This discussion will briefly describe the currently available brand safety measures in web RTB, and how browsers might be able to implement the same or analogous features.
