Dear Thorsten, Thank you for your comment <http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-owl-comments/2009Oct/0012.html> on the OWL 2 Web Ontology Language last call drafts. The restriction on unnamed individuals not appearing in the axioms you mention is particular only to the OWL 2 DL variant of OWL. The structural specification, however, has been designed to capture OWL 2 ontologies beyond OWL 2 DL, and the same design principle has been applied to the OWL/XML syntax. In fact, an important design goal was to keep the two syntaxes in sync. The OWL WG will therefore not make any changes to the OWL/XML syntax in response to this comment. Please acknowledge receipt of this email to <mailto:public-owl-comments@w3.org> (replying to this email should suffice). In your acknowledgment please let us know whether or not you are satisfied with the working group's response to your comment. Regards, Boris Motik on behalf of the W3C OWL Working Group
