I have no reply yet from Australia.   I suggest we dive into the
Calendar specification.   We have a feed of 1200 competitions going
forwards, from the European Athletics calendar and exposed by
Tilastopaja below, which we can make open before the meeting.
Format looks like this below.   I expect to have them all geocoded to
"city centre" level and it would be possible to auto-match to know
stadia.    We can also classify by name-matching into Track and Field,
XC, Road, Race Walking etc.

After we add a little more data, ReportLab can very easily expose an
'open data' API allowing various search and sort parameters, and I
imagine you could easily automate the production of some real JSON-LD
off this.

I think we should extend the IAAF series abbreviation list in Ivan's
codes document  (WC, OG, DL etc), include informally-specified
European codes  (ETCH = Euro Team Championships etc), and also come up
with some suggestions for "lower down" in the sport - open meetings,
XC leagues, road relays, regional champs, club champs etc.

I'll share some data before the meeting.
