W3C 12th October: Open Active and Data Quality

Hello all,

More detail on next Wednesday's W3C Community Group Call at 2pm.

Data Quality is a broad topic and perspectives will vary across the
OpenActive community.
Hopefully, many of you will join next week and we can build a better
picture of data quality understanding and impacts across OpenActive.

I'll talk briefly about the activities around data quality we have planned
for phase 5 of OpenActive and how that feeds into the broader plans for the
standards and supporting tools.

Oli Sisman from London Sport will describe an example where the user
experience in their Activity Finder tools is negatively impacted by
inconsistencies in data feeds.

Then we'll hear from the Office of National Statistics |(ONS) Data Quality
Hub - specialists in targeting effective action on data quality, focussed
on impacts and outcomes.

Then we'll open the discussion up. There'll be an opportunity to share
other perspectives on data quality and to get feedback from the community
on some of the issues and ideas discussed.

Hope to see you there - if there are others in your organisations that may
wish to contribute, please send them via the W3C sign-up page
<https://www.w3.org/community/openactive/how-to-join-the-group/>.

Thanks
Howard
