The ODRL specs talk about Profiles - in two ways but this will be reconciled (http://www.w3.org/community/odrl/two/vocab/#section-3 and http://www.w3.org/community/odrl/two/vocab/#section-3) A question arising in our RightsML Profile of ODRL discussions at IPTC is: is there a way to indicate that a profile complies with a specific profile? This is essential to the features "changing default values" and "documenting deprecated values" of the Profile definition by ODRL - if no applied profile is indicated how should a receiver know that default values are different for this policy or that the action X should be considered as deprecated? If there is/should be no way for indicating profiles I propose to take these two features out of the Profile chapter - in other words: ODRL profiles only add something to the ODRL specs/vocabularies.
