Hi all,
Here's some sort of a matrix of possible out-of-browser implementations,
that we could use to check what is doable on what platforms. At least
that's my understanding.
Back-end\Front-end| cloudeebus/websockets | node.js | phonegap |
------------------+-----------------------+------------+------------+
neard / DBus | 1) OK | 2) OK | 3) |
------------------+-----------------------+------------+------------+
Android | 4) | 5) OK ? | 6) OK |
------------------+-----------------------+------------+------------+
Windows phone 8 | 7) | 8) | 9) OK ? |
------------------+-----------------------+------------+------------+
Blackberry | 10) | 11) | 12) OK ? |
------------------+-----------------------+------------+------------+
- I'll do 1) and 2) should come for free using cloudeebus + node-dbus.
- 6) should be possible to branch from Don's phonegap-nfc, and I suppose
9) and 12) also but I'm not sure how hard that is
- Repackaging Don's phonegap-nfc in node-js should work for 5), not sure
about 8) and 11). Talking to Hans Myrhaug might help for 5) too
- neard and cloudeebus rely on DBus, so 4), 7), 10) and 3) are probably
out of the picture
I can for sure work on 1) and 2), probably work with Don on 6) What do
you guys think ?
