Hi, I've been toying around with some very rough sketches for a logo for the group. We don't need to go with any of these (and I won't be hurt if you think they are crap, they are just discardable prototypes :)), but it would be good for us to try to come up with something. Going with the concept of a "polyfill" (i.e., an industrial multi application polymer plaster or artificial material filler), I came up with the following four concept sketches. Try to imagine them not as water colour, but as vector. 1. https://github.com/marcoscaceres/prollyfillcg-logos/blob/master/sample_1.jpg For 1, I was thinking the polyfill clinging elastically and filling space. In terms of movement, I was thinking something like the responsive web cat: http://roxik.com/cat/ 2. https://github.com/marcoscaceres/prollyfillcg-logos/blob/master/image2.jpg For 2, I was thinking that pollyfill is a lot like a kind of mailable slime… so came up with a slimy critter that fills space. 3. https://github.com/marcoscaceres/prollyfillcg-logos/blob/master/sample_3.jpg Sample 3 is a variation on 1, but I wanted it to be more in line with the HTML5 logo. The word "Poly" could just be a P or whatever… just playing around with type. 4. https://github.com/marcoscaceres/prollyfillcg-logos/blob/master/sample4.jpg Sample 4 is supposed to be a plastic tub of "polyfiller", it draws on the style of the HTML5 logo. The colours are a bit crap, but hopefully you get the idea. And this shows what they could look like on the site: https://raw.github.com/marcoscaceres/prollyfillcg-logos/master/onscreen.png -- Marcos Caceres http://datadriven.com.au
