Hi, As you may remember, the charter of our group is expiring at the end of this month; in practice, with the upcoming holidays, we have at most two working weeks left to finalize the new version of the Web Compatibility Test for Mobile Browsers, and based on what I understand from Wilhelm’s schedule, we probably have just one week with him around. So our options with regard to WCTMB2 are: • finalizing it in the remaining week, • asking for a one or two months extension to the charter for our group — I don’t yet if it would be granted, but I’m fairly sure that I would have to severely reduce my official involvement to the group even if it was, • continuing working informally after the group closes — obviously I would have to reduce my involvement in this case too I think we should try for each of these options in order, i.e.: try to finalize the test in the upcoming week as much as we can; if we can’t, I would try to ask for an extension, and otherwise, I guess we may see if the tests contributors are still able to contribute after the charter expires. (the reasons why I think it makes sense to ask for a short extension to our charter: • it makes our work more visible, and gives it clear IPR rules, • with a short extension, we would still have a clear deadline to match to finalize the work, • it may make it easier for some to continue participating under a formal roof) Let me know your reactions, Dom, ACTION-97
