a few quick points There are very few serious sites in WML anymore and hven't been for 5 years - Most "internet enabled" phone browsers pick up XHTML-MP as a minimum. Most SA operators have their own email for users which are slightly easier to set up than general webmail - e.g vodamail, mtn loaded Many sim cards in SA are bought data enabled - you just put them in the phone and they can access internet. Most people in SA rely on their local fundi or teenager to set their phones up for them. Mxit is the primary driver because of communication costs.
