Hi all, In light of the discussion in Frankfurt and the direction that began to take shape then, the chairs are working on a revision to the charter of the Music Notation Community Group. The changes will set out a roadmap for working on the main areas we have come to understand to date: - MNX (an overall umbrella and container spec for different notation encodings) - CWMNX (a CWMN-specific semantic encoding of Western notational concepts) - GMNX (a generic, idiom-free, non-semantic encoding of graphics and performance instances) The revisions to the charter will be up for discussion and potentially a CG vote, so that we can solidify our direction and our priorities. Note that the charter doesn't encompass the substance of these specifications, only their scope and nature. Daniel Spreadbury has kindly offered to take the lead on this effort. The chair hopes to have a draft ready in the next few weeks. Best, . . . . . ...Joe Joe Berkovitz Founder Noteflight LLC 49R Day Street Somerville MA 02144 USA "Bring music to life" www.noteflight.com
