Hello all, Several people have contacted me asking about the Musikmesse meeting. We are indeed planning to have a W3C Music Notation Community Group meeting at Musikmesse in Frankfurt on Friday, 7 April 2017, in the afternoon. We are still awaiting the final confirmation from Musikmesse as to the exact time and location for the meeting. Once we have those details we will announce it to this list via our blog. Please email me off-list if your company is interested in sponsoring the reception at this meeting. We expect our main meeting topics will be the status of MusicXML 3.1 and SMuFL 1.2, and next steps for MNX. Please let us know if you have further suggestions for agenda topics. We have made great progress on MusicXML 3.1, but it is clear we will not be complete by 31 March as we had planned. We now plan to be feature-complete by Musikmesse so that people can proceed with implementations. If the implementation efforts go well, we would plan to ship MusicXML 3.1 by the end of Q2 2017. This is a good time to review the MusicXML 3.1 issue list and see if it meets your needs, or if there are some issues you believe are important to add to the upcoming release. We also have several “In Progress” issues where proposed designs are under discussion. You can see all the MusicXML 3.1 issues at: https://github.com/w3c/musicxml/issues <https://github.com/w3c/musicxml/issues> The open issues planned for MusicXML 3.1 are listed at: https://github.com/w3c/musicxml/milestone/1 <https://github.com/w3c/musicxml/milestone/1> Closed issues that have already been implemented for MusicXML 3.1 are listed at: https://github.com/w3c/musicxml/milestone/1?closed=1 <https://github.com/w3c/musicxml/milestone/1?closed=1> Thank you again for all your contributions! Best regards, Michael Good VP of MusicXML Technologies MakeMusic, Inc.
