Videos

Thank you all for your feedback on the video script. Today we met with a video production professional who had a lot of good ideas. The upshot is that we will be making one (possibly two) videos for the overall concept but they will be *very* different from my first script. (The meeting was kind, but it was also clear that the only good part of my script was Stephen’s contribution, but that we needed to go even further in terms of simplification.) Felix and I will be working on a new script and should have it ready by Wednesday to circulate back to the list.

That said, we have another opportunity for you all to demonstrate your implementations. Basically, we want to see some live-action demos of your implementations in action. We would have you do scripted demos via GoToMeeting and would record your screencast. We would then take your scripts and rerecord the voice in a professional studio to ensure quality and consistency and then add title screens and closing credits to emphasize our brand.

These demos would each be limited in length to five minutes max. They should also focus on practical highlights and results of your implementation that help make the case for ITS 2.0. For example, you could show how your system makes something that would ordinarily be difficult much simpler. What we don’t want for this series is a detailed how-to tutorial for some specific feature. (We can do those things later and add them to our YouTube channel, but for these things with higher production value we want to focus on ones that help make the case for ITS 2.0 and your implementations.)

If you would be interested in doing such a screencast, please let us know on the list. We would have two weeks or so to put them together to allow time for postproduction before the end of the year, so knowing how many of you are interested in doing these would help us plan our time. (If we have 20 of you wanting to do them that might be a bit tough and we might have to limit how many we can do.)

If you do one, you would then need to prepare the script (as a text or Word file), practice the demo so you can do it with your script, and schedule a time with me to make the recording.

So keep an eye out for more in the next few days that will give a better idea of what we have arrived at.

Best,

Arle
