Hi all, the outcome of the discussion with W3C mgmt this week is: to go to proposed recommendation we will need to have another last call draft. The changes needed are actually rather small: - update the HTML5 references to point to http://www.w3.org/TR/2013/CR-html5-20130806/dom.html#phrasing-content http://www.w3.org/TR/2013/CR-html5-20130806/dom.html#the-translate-attribute - integrate comments from the RDF WG (if there are any to come) http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-multilingualweb-lt/2013Aug/0001.html - make NIF a *non* normative reference (also, remove the two conformance clauses 2-4 and 3-4 related to NIF processing in XML / HTML - and make the non normative status of NIF tests explicit in the test suite). This is needed not because of technical reasons - all implementation and testing work Sebastian / we did is not in question at all. The reason for changing to non normative is that NIF does not yet have a formal standardization organisation as an umbrella. The time schedule then will be 1) publish a new LC draft 15 August (previous published draft was LC draft 21 May) 2) go to PR mid September 3) got to REC end of October / early November So to the general world we can "market this" like: ITS2 is done - but small clarifications will lead to a delay of the publication of the final standard. Which is not too bad in terms of our funding context - the "final standard" deliverable D2.4 is promised in September, so we have a delay about a few weeks. One thing is needed though: many eyes looking at the upcoming drafts. I know you are all busy with implementation stuff, reporting and other upcoming work outside this group. But please follow the steps 1) - 3), e.g. try to be at next weeks call to vote for publication on Thursday. If it is just a few people following the updates, discussions etc., we might make a mistake and really run out of time. If you have comments please reply in this thread. I will provide edits by today EOB for you to review until next week Wednesday. Best, Felix
