+1. We definitely need some deadline for complete implementation.
M3 and its date are IMO fine.

Yes. It's good to have some goal to try to reach along the way to M3.
I have nothing against M2.
I was noting it may be a bit harder to reach for some, depending on how they proceed with implementation.
