Task force on updating mobileOK checker

Hi public-mobileokchecker,

As part of a process whereby W3C looks at a set of needs that need
addressing in the upcoming few months, I have been proposing that the
existing mobileOK checker [1] would need to be updated (possibly with a
new tool) that takes into account its known limitations and adapts to
the changes in the mobile Web landscape.

To that end, a number of persons from the W3C staff and Membership
expressed interest in contributing input on a report that need to be
presented to the W3C Advisory Committee (mid May) and then W3C
Management (mid-July) for potential funding.

I have suggested that this work would benefit from happening on that
list, since this would allow us to get input from the current community
that exists around the tool.

So I've subscribed these people to the list, and will forward a couple
of messages I had previously sent to them as preliminary to the work.

I've created a wiki page to serve as a coordination work for this:
http://www.w3.org/wiki/Mobile_checker

Thanks,
Dom
