Initial comments on the mobileOK Basic checker

Dear Mobile Web Best Practices Working Group,

Congratulations on launching the alpha version of the mobileOK Basic checker. This is going to be very helpful for those working on mobile-friendly Web sites.

Here are some comments following preliminary, personal testing:

* Provide link near top of page to the mailing list to which users should send feedback on the checker

* Provide links from error messages to text from MWBP and mobileOK docs. Currently, output text such as "(per CONTENT_FORMAT_SUPPORT_AND_VALID_MARKUP)" does not link to anyplace. Until you can do this, at least make it clear where the user can find this text and explanation... For example, say something like, "the error message below give text references / links to the ABCD document (is it the MWBP or the W3C mobileOK Basic document?).

* Very helpful for developers... Provide links from error messages to as much information as possible to help the user fix the error. I appreciate that it may take time to develop a set of such concrete recommendations and examples. Perhaps you could ask the users to submit their own idea via mail lists, wikis, etc.

* Provide a link near top of the page, especially after a checking has completed, that says something like "Check new site?", which takes you to the URI input field (now at the bottom of what might be a long page of errors :)

Keep up the great work.

Steve
