Jan Jaap or JJ: android and iOS

JJ: last two years trying to apply WCAG to mobile apps – I focus on 
solutions

JJ: code examples for native apps – working on for the last two years 
trying to map between guidelines to solutions – how to fix issues, and 
that's why I decided to join this group to see if I can help with mobile 
apps and accessibility – also focusing lately on European accessibility

JJ: goal is to make apps more accessible good place to start is WCAG 
guidelines

Vicki-Jane or VJ: Work closely with advocacy organization supports 200 
people with learning disabilities. Consult on ease of reading documents 
and Working on ways of providing the lived experience of all kinds of 
neuro- Divergent peopleConversations around what constitutes inclusion 
future all apps and guidelines with artistic and learning disabled 
people as a matter of standard practice.

VJ: Funded by Walsh government innovation arm project access statement 
creating apps so that we can do something about the marginalization and 
terrible employment rate of Neuro- divergent people. UK 80% unemployed 
neuro- diversion adults. Consult with other tech startups to help them 
design their products to be neuro- inclusive from the get-go. Hub of 
activity in the South Wales region. Naturally bilingual country

VJ: bilingual – all roadsigns etc. have to be bilingual there's a lot to 
be learned in ways Wales has had to adapt to bilingualism and in many 
cases trilingual with incorporation of UK sign language as well.

<JanJaapdeGroot> Kim: I use speech recognition and train people to use 
speech input, created add-on for Dragon to enhance user experience

<JanJaapdeGroot> Kim: I am also a journalist, and test out accessibility 
tools in various scenarios

<JanJaapdeGroot> Kim: Part of W3C mobile task force and other groups

<JanJaapdeGroot> Kim: introduced the other members of the team, folks 
who work at companies and public institutions

<JanJaapdeGroot> Kim: Check in status: all OK, reports there is one 
spreadsheet change

<JanJaapdeGroot> Kim, VJ: Discussing some of the spreadsheets which are 
mentioned in the Agenda doc

<JanJaapdeGroot> Kim, VJ: Discussion about voice recognition software - 
for people who are deaf and/or have muscle impairments

<JanJaapdeGroot> VJ: Future of Personal Computers are no personal 
computers but mobile phones which include assistive technologies

<JanJaapdeGroot> Kim: Voice Control on iOS should have the ability to 
edit commands and share with other people

Dark mode

JJ: problem of not using European standard, just Using WCAG but for apps 
there are additional requirements but they're not being tested – 
mismatch between theory and practice

JJ: a lot of developers want to put in accessibility features, but 
funding, knowing what to do, direction to

JJ: problem with android is settings wordings are different with 
different flavors of android different manufacturers – not standard
