Coming in late on this, but: even if this doesn't make it into an actual final new SC, an alternative would be for 4.1.2 to more explicitly cover the scenario, as the wording for 4.1.2 already does include "and notification of changes to these items is available to user agents, including assistive technologies", with the problem being that "these" refers to "interface components", which according to some mean that it doesn't apply to, say, a table being updated as a result of an action (though I have always treated 4.1.2 as being the place to report lack of AT notifications even in those cases) P -- Patrick H.
