Spreading MiniApps in Europe

Hi colleagues,

In an exercise of spreading the MiniApps community globally and exploring new possibilities for this new paradigm of light apps, we are about to launch the Quick App Initiative in Europe. This interest group, hosted by the open source organization OW2, is a vendor-neutral multidisciplinary forum that will explore vertical applications where MiniApps have the potential to be part of a solution. OW2 is located in Europe, but with worldwide participants.

The Quick App Initiative is focused on Quick Apps as a concrete implementation of MiniApps. The participation will be open to anyone and the group's intention is to develop open source tools, engines, and documents, as well as proof of concepts based on the MiniApps standards. One of the objectives of this group is to provide direct feedback to the MiniApp WG/CG and engage new participants in our W3C groups.

We will announce the initiative in public tomorrow, during a keynote at the OW2Con'21 (the annual OW2 conference, held virtually). In case you want to attend the conference, feel free to register [1]. Read more about the Quick App Initiative [2], and feel free to join now. So far, there is no much content, but we have created a white paper [3] with some use cases and background.
