Dear Advisory Committee Representative,
Chairs,

This is an advance notice that a draft charter for a new MiniApps
Working Group is being prepared, with the mission to produce
specifications that facilitate the development of interoperable and
robust MiniApps. The proposed MiniApps Working Group aims to harmonize
the heterogeneous MiniApp ecosystem, enabling interoperability among the
different MiniApp platforms, maximizing the convergence of MiniApps and
the World Wide Web, reducing the development costs and facilitating the
adoption of this technology.

The proposed Working Group draws from a MiniApp Standardization White
Paper draft [1], published in September 2019 by the Chinese Web Interest
Group, and subsequent work [2] in the MiniApps Ecosystem Community Group
[3].

The draft charter is at:
   https://w3c.github.io/miniapp/charters/wg-2020.html

We welcome input and feedback on the draft charter in the miniapp GitHub
repository, where feedback is public:
   https://github.com/w3c/miniapp/issues/new?title=[charter]

W3C Members may also discuss on the member-confidential mailing list
<w3c-ac-forum@w3.org>.

The MiniApps Ecosystem Community Group is meeting during TPAC [4] and
will discuss this charter proposal.

If you have any questions or need further information, please contact
Fuqiao Xue <xfq@w3.org> or Wendy Seltzer <wseltzer@w3.org>.

This announcement follows section 5.2.2 of the W3C Process Document:
