The meeting date and agenda have not yet been determined. The goal of the meeting is to bring together global stakeholders to have a deeper understanding of MiniApps, introduce the current MiniApps CG work and discuss the future of standardization effort on MiniApps in W3C. The meeting will consist of pre-recorded talks with captions in English & Chinese and live sessions with simultaneous interpretation. We will follow up this email once the dates are confirmed. The meeting is open to W3C members, MiniApps CG and Chinese Web IG participants and invited guests. More info can be found on the meeting page: https://www.w3.org/2020/07/miniapp-virtual-meeting/index.html If you have any questions or comments, please contact the MiniApps CG <internal-miniapps@w3.org>, Fuqiao Xue <xfq@w3.org> or Xueyuan Jia <xueyuan@w3.org>. ------- Background: ------- MiniApp is a new form of mobile application, leveraging both Web technologies and capabilities of native applications. To enhance the interoperability between different platforms, main stream MiniApp vendors have been working together in W3C Chinese Web Interest Group since May 2019 and published MiniApp Standardization White Paper [1] in September 2019 as the initial standardization exploration for MiniApp technologies. As more global companies show interest in this topic, the MiniApps CG was launched during TPAC2019 so that global Web community can join the related discussion. The CG has now incubated five proposals [2] . Along with the progressive discussion in MiniApps CG, the group participants recently reached a consensus of driving a corresponding Working Group to produce REC-track specifications that facilitate the development of interoperable and robust MiniApps. A draft charter [3] for a MiniApps Working Group is currently under development. See the MiniApps FAQ [4] for a list of frequently asked questions.
