Personal presentation

First of all, thank you for welcoming me into this group. Let me introduce myself: my name is Dario de Judicibus, I am Italian and I have a degree in Physics with a specialization in High Energy Particles; I worked at CERN and then I joined IBM where I had various roles in a career that lasted 27 years. I was the owner and the builder of the IBM Italy Island in Second Life.. When I left IBM I opened with some partners one of the major European film and television schools in Cinecittà Studios in Rome, the Rome Film Academy, which I sold after 7 years of activity, to become a freelancer. I work in Accompany, a company of Methodos group, one of the best Change Management consulting group in Europe. I am a Senior Consultant in Knowledge Management and Business Strategy as well as an expert in methodologies for Problem Solving & Decision Making. I have also published two books in Italian language on web protocols and languages. In my spare time I am a writer of fantasy and science fiction novels and I have published about twenty works between short stories and novels. I am also the author of the concept of Total Reality, developed in 2010 when I was in IBM and applied in some projects in Italy. I have always been involved in Computer Graphics, Virtual Spaces and interactions between humans and machines, both from a technological and a social point of view.


I believe it is extremely important that W3C is at the forefront in defining the standards of interoperability between the virtual worlds that will form the Metaverse, both in terms of data format and communication protocols, in order to guarantee continuity of navigation in those virtual worlds, analoguesly to what exists today when we move from one site to another on the web.
