I'm not sure I understand exactly the scope of the issue you have raised. What do you mean by: "we need to define what the client (UA) should do with media fragment (segment)"? - Do you mean, what the UA should do the first time it comes across a media fragment URI (i.e. how to parse the URI and transform it into a HTTP request)? - Or do you mean, what is the whole process (i.e. single or dual step) that will ultimately make the UA play a media resource? If it is the latter, then this issue is actually the description of what we have called so far the HTTP implementation (a bad name, I agree) available at http://www.w3.org/2008/WebVideo/Fragments/wiki/HTTP_implementation and that we will need to further complete/discuss once the proposal of Conrad is on the table. My concern is that I'm afraid you have captured in a single issue what should be the media fragment spec :-) Or am I missing something? Cheers.
