Dear Ken, Thanks for your answer. It didn't get through the mailing list archive since I think you're not subscribed yet to the mailing list and the mail has been most likely bounced somewhere. If you wish to subscribe, just send an email to: <public-media-fragment-request@w3.org> with the subject line 'subscribe' (and an empty body). > Not in the coding sense, although I've certainly been pushing for this > feature, because it will indirectly encourage people to caption their > videos. Have you ever considered using TimedText [1] for aligning/synchronizing the transcript with the video? > Um, has there been any discussion of a standard post-hash syntax? > (I can ask since I'm new here :-) Hum, we have purposely decided to postpone this question :-) More seriously, we have preferred to discuss during our face-to-face meeting the functionalities we expect from the media fragment, the use cases that will show their use, and the overall communication between a UA and a server (through some proxies, caches, etc.). We know we would need to specify a syntax at some point, but we see it as a side issue, once we know exactly what we want to cover. Best regards.
